It all began when Judge Bowden started bottling Lithia Springs Mineral Water in 1888. People began drinking Lithia Spring Water and immediately there were reports that all types of ailments were greatly improved. So popular was this rare health enhancing mineral water that the newly founded Coca-Cola Company started selling it to soda fountains with its famous syrup. Bowden Lithia Springs Water became the most popular water in America. Flash forward to 2009, only the people in the Atlanta area remembered Lithia Springs and its healing mineral water. Lithia had last been bottled and sold in 1999 and in July of 2009 Lithia Mineral Water Inc purchased the historic Lithia Springs with a business plan to start bottling and selling the spring’s health enhancing water. Only 2 months after the acquisition a devastating flood destroyed our bottling facility, Vintage 1876 doctor’s office, and part of the spring house. Our company had no flood insurance so it was a great loss both emotionally and financially. We never gave up because we were motivated to share Lithia Springs healing waters. We believed in the history and the healing powers of the spring water and we knew that modern people needed this legendary health elixir more than ever, so we struggled to rebuild. It was a hard process because it required lots of money, time, patience and belief. In July 2011 we had finally rebuilt and repaired all the flood damage. We started bottling our first batch of LITHIA™ and selling direct from the springs.
